These decorative hand carved dough bowls are crafted from fallen cedar trees sourced in the Hudson Valley. Made in small batches, these bowls are each unique, formed around the natural characteristics of the tree. The bowls are then burnt in the Japanese style of yakisugi, (also known as shou sugi ban) creating the black patina and preserving the wood from decay. Trays are additionally sealed to preserve and protect against liquid and finished with a food safe wax and oil mixture.
Trays are approximately 36” long and 6-9” wide but vary slightly by piece. If specific dimensions are needed, custom sizes are made upon request.
